The Lesser-known British Composers of the Twentieth Century
Although Milford has recently received just and revived recognition, there are many
composers, similar to Robin in temperament and dedication to music, who have not
received such revival or standing. Some of these would have been known to Milford, either
personally or professionally, while others would not. The certainty is that Milford would
have taken in an interest in them and would have wished to assist these composers had it
been within his power.
With this in mind, the Milford Trust has decided to dedicate this section of the Milford
Website to lesser-known composers of the age. Some names will be known, while others
will not. We hope to present biographical and musical detail on each, of varying degrees.
This section is developmental through time and available information, and we warmly
welcome contributions of any kind, be they biographical, musical or historical in nature.
